Plant Description

Description: A grass-like plant with a tall flowering stem that terminates in a conelike head with a yellow flower at the tip, which is characteristic of yellowed grasses in general.  Very difficult to distinguish from other yelloweyed grasses. Best suited for bog and rain gardens.

Light exposure: Full sun to high pine shade

Bloom color: Yellow

Bloom season: Mid-spring to fall

Height (in bloom): 1 to 2 feet

Habitat: Moist pine flatwoods, stream banks and floodplains
