Plant Description

Description: Spreads to form a vigorous, shrubby ground cover with many showy, yellow flowers. Attractive to butterflies. Drought tolerant once established in well drained soils. Salt tolerant.

Life Span: Perennial; occasionally annual or a short-lived perennial

Light Exposure: Full sun to high pine shade

Bloom Color: Yellow

Bloom Season: Mid-spring to fall

Height (in bloom)2 to 3 feet

Habitat: Dry - Sandy open areas (coastal; disturbed)

Note: Do not use on Florida's west central Gulf Coast as this species could hybridze with the rare, endemic West Coast Dune Sunflower, Helianthus debilis subsp. vestitus.
