Plant Description

Description: This shrub-like wildflower is also appropriately known as Giant rosemallow as it can grow upwards of 9 feet tall. While it is a wetland species, it should perform well under garden conditions as long as the soil does not dry out.

Light exposure: Full sun

Bloom color: Pink, with a reddish purple throat

Bloom season: Late spring and summer

Height (in bloom): 5 to 6 feet (but can get as tall as 9 feet)

Habitat: Moist marshes, swamps and wet meadows
